CFFA 3178 Association Meeting

Call to order at 1905

Officers present:

            Chris Holland, President

            Tim Russell, Vice President

            Kim Thompson, Secretary/Treasurer

 

-Minutes read from last meeting

-Jarrett Parr to be A shift representative

-Update on cemetery.  Kelley Burr doing most of the work.  Kelley will let people know when she will be going out to do the work and accept volunteers for help.

-Treasury report:

            checking  $8568.25

            savings    $7721.92

            money market  $5508.21

                        Motion:  Matt Uppole   Second:  Brian Stacy    Accepted

New Business:

- The City is wanting help for the Kid Fish

- Pletcher, Thomas and Lover from PD are riding the National Law Enforcement Memorial.  They are seeking donations for the expenses.  Motion to donate $300.00 Heather Dingfield, Second John Adams     Accepted

- Proposal to give Kruse a\retirement plaque for the presentation on 2/22 by Tim Russell.  Motion by Matt Uppole to purchase,  Second Mark Daniels    Accepted.    Amount will be at the discretion of the Executive Board.

- Information is posted about the Streamline sales tax.  Witt says that he may need the help of the fire department in writing letters.

- Tim mailed flyers for the firefighter cruise.  Looking at possibilities of putting notices in paychecks and on Staffnet.

- Sugarland FD needing information on department safety officers.  Glover will pass on Coppell’s information.

- Leadership conference will be April 6-8 in Waco.  Registration is $25.00 per person.  Motion made to send up to 4 people with a cap of $800.00 by Mark Daniels, Second John Adams  Accepted.  Kelley, John, Brian, Heather and Ty R. offered to sub.

- The IAFF will be sending out multiple mail outs regarding upcoming elections.  Everyone is reminded that these are only the union recommendations and that each has their own decision.

- Income for the association was over $27,000.  Tax rules state that taxes must be files over $25,000.  It is recommended that we get an accountant to help with paperwork.

- Daily will chair a committee to help in the repairs of 608 Bullock for an elderly couple.  A list of repairs and a date of work will be set after the property is inspected.

- Dave is chairman of the departments EMS fair committee.  The fair will be held on May 16th.  All help is appreciated.

- Kim Thompson will be resigning as Secretary/Treasurer at the end of the term in May.
